With automatic calibration, one-click printing and an always-perfect first layer, the MK4S is the best entry into the world of 3D printing. Its open design, the result of more than 10 years of evolution, ensures easy maintenance, upgradability and great accessibility. Plus, a detailed handbook guides you through every aspect of the MK4S. When you get the assembled printer, simply take it out of the box, plug it in and once it finishes the automatic calibration, you can start printing right away!
Quiet High-Speed Printing
Twice as fast as the MK3S+ and among the fastest desktop printers, the MK4S uses a native implementation of Input Shaper and Pressure Advance technologies to eliminate resonances and optimize filament flow which is further enhanced by the new high-flow nozzle. The result is doubled print speed and beautifully quiet operation, so you can keep the MK4S on your desk and continue working undisturbed. The MK4S can print a SpeedBoatRace Benchy in 14 minutes and a “Bonkers” Benchy in 8 minutes.
Exceptional Print Quality and Reliability
Speed is nothing without quality and reliability. There's no point in chasing speed records when the prints barely hold together. While the MK4S is twice as fast compared to the previous generation, we put extra care into improving the print quality even further.
With the redesigned 360° cooling, high-quality high-flow nozzle, robust parts, and fine-tuned print profiles, the MK4S delivers exceptionally good performance with precisely directed cooling, extreme 75° overhangs, and easily handles even flexible filaments. The MK4S offers the best dimensional accuracy, enabling you to print parts that fit perfectly together.
High-Performance 360° Cooling
The MK4S features a brand new 360° cooling system consisting of a high-performance turbine and a redesigned fan shroud - the result of intensive airflow simulations to ensure that the cold air is directed precisely onto the print. This solution is much more effective compared to blanket fans, because the airflow is not blocked by the print itself. The weight of the Nextruder remains virtually unchanged, but the performance is far better.
Even with the large turbine, the printer is still beautifully quiet and can deliver prints with extreme 75° overhangs. Why does this matter? Because where other printers would already need a hefty amount of supports, the MK4S can easily deliver a beautiful-looking print. Less supports means shorter print times and less material wasted.
High-Flow Nozzle as Standard
The MK4S comes standard with a custom-made high-flow nozzle based on CHT technology. A high-flow nozzle enables faster printing, but also produces more durable prints. Plus, you can get more from the filaments you already know and love - you don’t have to look for any specialized high-flow filaments. Compared to the stock nozzle in the MK4, the new high-flow nozzle delivers between 50 to 114% improved flow rate depending on the material and nozzle diameter. We’re also offering an optional Nextruder nozzle adapter so you can install any kind of V6-compatible nozzle.
Tackle any type of filament
No matter whether your project requires PLA and PETG, or even ASA and carbon-filled filaments, the MK4S can handle them with ease - even flex! With its direct drive Nextruder, printing flexible materials is easier than ever before and you can create amazing flexible projects without breaking a sweat (or your printer). Most materials do not require an enclosed printing space, but for those that do, there's a dedicated Original Prusa Enclosure (see below).
Perfect First Layer Out of the Box
Forget Live Adjust Z or manually adjusted screws. The MK4S lays down an absolutely pristine first layer every time. It doesn't matter what kind of print surface you use, the MK4S Loadcell sensor will always precisely measure the offset without being thrown off by reflective or textured surfaces. The sensor doesn't rely on visual data, offering unparalleled precision on every kind of print sheet out there!
Incredible Dimensional Accuracy
When you design a part that should fit together with an existing object or you want to make sure that the holes for screws will be a perfect match, you want to have a dimensionally-accurate 3D print. Our firmware and print profiles are tweaked for maximum print quality, so the MK4S can deliver unparalleled dimension accuracy - see the comparison on the state-of-the-art Zeiss Metrotom 1500 where the MK4S clearly wins over the competition. The more the color deviates from green, the more inaccurate the print is.
Wi-Fi and Prusa Connect
The Original Prusa MK4S is equipped with a Wi-Fi module and an ethernet port, allowing you to control your printer from anywhere using our secure and encrypted Prusa Connect system. Drop a G-code into your browser window and start the print in mere seconds after the beginning of the upload. Prusa Connect offers a robust set of options, allowing you to schedule your prints, or monitor them remotely via a webcam. The MK4S also allows you to quickly set up the Wi-Fi with a simple NFC tap thanks to the new (fully optional) Prusa app.
Optional Prusa App
Get a quick overview of all your printers, running tasks, and enables you to start, pause and stop prints from anywhere in a nice, clean design. You can also access Printables directly from the app and if a project contains a printable file, simply tap the print button and start printing it right away without the need to use a slicer. The app for iOS and Android is completely optional and is not required to configure your printer. If you prefer simplicity over smart features, you don’t have to install it at all.
Actively Updated
We publish new updates for our printers even years after release, bringing new, often major features that transform the way you print. The MK3S+ kept receiving firmware updates for more than six years. The Original Prusa MINI received a major Input Shaper update four years after release, which doubled its print speed. The MK4S is the newest iteration of our proven MK4 platform.
Accessories for enthusiasts
The MK4S is compatible with two new optional addons for enthusiasts and modders. First, the GPIO “hackerboard” allows you to control external electronics using G-commands. And we have also introduced an accelerometer addon for those who made extensive changes to the Nextruder. You can find more details on their respective product pages.
Open design - simple maintenance
Our machines are built to last. We operate a massive print farm with over 700 of our printers running 24/7. This means we design our machines to withstand non-stop operation with minimal downtime. The open “bed-slinger“ design is the result of a 10-year evolution and enables the easiest access to all parts without a lengthy disassembly process. No welded or glued parts, everything can be taken apart with a set of Allen keys.
Designed for Offline Use
The MK4S has been designed for native offline use, so if you don’t want to use the network services, you don’t have to. The printer can be configured completely without internet access and there are no drawbacks or limitations. The Wi-Fi module can be easily unplugged for environments that require the highest level of security.

MMU3
MK4S can be enhanced by an optional add-on that allows your single-extruder printer to print with up to 5 colors (materials) at the same time. Load the five colors of your choice, slice the object in PrusaSlicer, start the print, and let the MMU3 do the rest.
With all-new plastic parts, reinforced metal parts and firmware built from the ground up, the MMU3 delivers stunning multi-material prints faster and more efficiently than its competitors. With 25-35 seconds per filament change and optimized nozzle cleaning, the prints are beautifully fast and reliable, and you don’t have to worry about cleaning piles of wasted filament scraps from around your printer all the time.
The MMU3 is up to three times more efficient in managing filament waste compared to other single-nozzle multi-material systems, bringing substantial cost savings.
The high-flow nozzle in the MK4S allows for much faster printing. However, when using the MMU3, the standard nozzle makes much more sense. Why? While the MMU3 works fine with a high-flow nozzle, the increased volumetric flow results in higher filament waste during printing. In other words, the MMU3 delivers the best performance, the same speed and the highest efficiency (lowest waste) when combined with the standard nozzle in both MK4 and MK4S.
So, if you order a standalone MMU3 for the MK4S you will receive it along with the standard nozzle. In the MK4S/MMU3 bundle, you will receive both nozzles in the package - the standard one as well as the high-flow nozzle. For assembled MK4S in a bundle with MMU3, the standard nozzle will be pre-installed on the printer as the default.
Enclosure
If you want to print more advanced technical materials on your MK4S, you’ll find the Enclosure really handy. It stabilizes the printer environment, eliminates drafts and odors, and makes the printer even more silent.
An enclosure is not necessary for every type of filament. Most of common materials, such as PLA, PETG, and even some advanced ones (like PCCF) do not require an enclosure. However, once you need to print with more advanced materials, such as ASA, ABS, PC and similar, the Enclosure is the best option to achieve increased temperatures in a stabilized environment, plus, the optional high-performance filtration system will take care of ultra-fine particles.
The Original Prusa Enclosure is available with a range of useful add-ons, such as the Advanced filtration system with HEPA filter, LED strip, Mechanical Lock or Fire Suppression System.
