Formlabs RESIN Castable Wax
The useful Formlabs Castable Wax Resin facilitates the creation of prototypes, for example in the jewellery industry
Formlabs Castable Wax Resin is a burn-out resin that can be used to print positive molds for a later casting process. The material enables an extremely high level of detail and print quality. This process is often used in the jewelry industry to print rings or other jewelry in 3D. Within this process a positive mould (i.e. an image) of, for example, a ring is produced. This is then embedded in plaster and surrounded. The entire object is then placed in an oven, where the resin burns out without leaving any residue. For the exact temperature curves please consult the technical data sheet of the material. With the now manufactured casting mould, rings, bracelets or necklaces can be cast from metal. The material burns off in the process without leaving soot or similar residues.
The Castable Wax Resin is a technical synthetic resin. The models are usually printed for further processing. The raw components are relatively brittle and therefore cannot be used in the long term.
Note: Formlabs cartridges physically fit all Formlabs SLA 3D printers from the second generation onwards (Form 2, Form 3 and Form 3L). However, a material may not be compatible with your printer and a corresponding material profile cannot be selected in the PreForm software. Therefore please always check in PreForm beforehand that the corresponding resin is compatible with your printer.
